“Go into all the world and proclaim the good news to the whole creation”Mk.16.15. We, the Bethany Sisters should strive as far as possible to fulfill this final admonition of our Lord. We should have great enthusiasm to spread the Gospel among the gentiles. The fruit of this work is immense. This thought was very strong in the mind of Mar Ivanios when he started the religious congregations. Bethany took into account the spiritual need of the scheduled caste people more than their social uplift. We should be very particular that no one should become a Christian aiming for their worldly prosperity. We must take the effort to make in them the thirst for coming to Jesus Christ and then give necessary training and preparation. Give them the training for a period, in the moral principles of Christianity, in the teachings of Jesus Christ and in Christian behavior, before they are given Baptism. Later on with proper preparation they could receive other Sacraments. We have to remember one thing. In order to turn people to God, the missionaries should have real piety and love of God. We should have the right knowledge of their religion and customs if we want to work among them.

Let us pray with our Founder, ‘O! God of all castes and creed, lot of gentiles perish in ignorance and spiritual darkness. All of them are created in your own image and likeness. Grant them the grace to know you and adore you.’
